Designed for quality, reliability and flexibility, the TSCD-II welder is a next-generation, closed-system device that can be used to connect polyvinyl chloride (PVC) tubing in any combination of wet and dry.
The TSCD-II welder may be used across your blood center to connect PVC tubing during tasks, including:
The wafers used by the TSCD-II welder heat up to 300 ̊C, maintaining sterility during cutting and welding without allowing particulates or chemical residue to form in the tubes. The design enables fast, one-handed operation, and durable materials stand up to intensive use.
The TSCD-II welder is available in select markets.
For Use With the TSCD® and TSCD®-II Sterile Tubing Welders
The weld integrity test kit is designed to help you satisfy both quality assurance and good manufacturing practice requirements without the need to ship your welder out for testing. Operators perform welds using the TSCD or TSCD-II welder and the test tubing provided. Welded tubing is then placed in the prepaid mailer and sent to Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies, where the welds are evaluated for alignment, pressure resistance and tensile strength.

Why take chances when it comes to sterile connections in your blood center and lab operations? The TSCD®-II Sterile Tubing Welder from Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies is a closed-system device with consistent reliability for connecting polyvinyl chloride (PVC) tubing in any combination of wet and dry.
That’s why our sterile tube welder is used in blood centers around the world for tasks such as component pooling, leukoreduction, quality control sampling, and cell washing and freezing.
When you combine the TSCD®-II Sterile Tubing Welder with TOMEs (Terumo Operational Medical Equipment Software), your blood center and component lab operations can enjoy a connected data environment that does even more to support controls and empower safe and efficient operations.
TOMEs is designed to help advance blood center and component lab operations with connectivity between compatible devices and your central information system.
Learn More About TOMEs
Luis Larrea, MD, Processing Department Head, Valencia Transfusion Center, Valencia, Spain
"All information about every element of our process is transferred back to the blood bank information system by TOMEs. We also have the advantage of automated support for avoiding human errors that would, first of all, lead to the loss of precious material.”
Veronica Lisi, Dirigente Biologo Presso Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria di Verona, Italy
“We are helping the traceability of the units, helping in the fulfilment of all the procedures, and also safety — because we are, at the same time, checking that all the units are all right.”
TSCD®-II, TOMEs, TACSI PL, T-RAC II, Trima Accel and Archimede are available in select markets.
TSCD is a registered trademark of Terumo Corporation, Japan.
Tubing shall meet the specifications for the welder.
