TSCD-II Sterile Tubing Welder

Connect PVC tubing in any combination of wet and dry — and enjoy proven sterility and optimal strength

Increase the productivity of your laboratory with reliable, sturdy welds

Designed for quality, reliability, and flexibility, the TSCD™-II Sterile Tubing Welder from Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies is a next-generation closed-system device that can be used to connect polyvinyl chloride (PVC) tubing in any combination of wet and dry.

Use the TSCD-II welder to connect PVC tubing during tasks such as:

  • Component pooling
  • Leukoreduction
  • Pathogen reduction
  • Collection set modification
  • Component aliquoting
  • Quality control sampling
  • Cell washing and freezing

Easy to use

The wafers used by the TSCD-II welder heat up to 300 ̊C, maintaining sterility during cutting and welding without allowing particulates or chemical residue to form in the tubes. The design enables fast, one-handed operation, and the welder’s durable materials stand up to intensive use.

  • Maintains a closed system
  • Joins any combination of tubing: wet-to-wet, dry-to-dry, wet-to-dry
  • Provides automatic wafer replacement
  • Features an interconnected clamp for one-handed operation
  • Guides use and displays process on the screen
  • Supports bags with detachable shelves
  • Reduces the risk of jams with a wafer monitor and a large used-wafer disposal box

Weld integrity test kit

For use with the TSCD™ and TSCD-II Sterile Tubing Welders

The weld integrity test kit is available in some markets and designed to help you satisfy both quality assurance and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements without the need to ship your welder out for testing. Operators perform welds using TSCD or TSCD-II and the test tubing provided. Welded tubing is then placed in the prepaid mailer and sent to Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies, where the welds are evaluated for alignment, pressure resistance, and tensile strength.

How could you benefit from using the TSCD-II system with TOMEs™ (Terumo Operational Medical Equipment Software)?

The power of software can increase your power to perform.
