The tubing sets available for the COBE 2991 cell processor allow operators to focus on the protocol while enjoying the convenience of a single-use tubing set.
The COBE 2991 cell processing set is the tubing set used to carry out the majority of cell processing procedures performed on the COBE 2991 cell processor. The cell processing bag rotates while the centrifuge is spinning and provides a pathway for fluid to be removed and/or added during processing. The most common procedures that use the cell processing set are washing of red blood cells (RBCs) and deglycerolization of previously frozen RBCs. Cell processing sets are not made with latex.
Each set includes these components:
The triple processing set is most commonly used for bone marrow processing procedures on the COBE 2991 cell processor. The triple processing set includes the same main tubing segments as the cell processing set, but with the flexibility to process larger volumes through the use of more than one cell processing bag and more options to connect additional starting cell products and processing/washing solutions.
Follow these basic steps for almost all cell processing procedures.
The double coupler adapter has two spikes that join into one spike port. It gives the operator the flexibility to connect more than one bag of starting cell product to the single spike connector on that line. It is sometimes used in protocols that may require a volume of starting cell product divided between two bags, such as deglycerolization of previously frozen RBCs, bone marrow processing, bone marrow concentration and mononuclear cell (MNC) washing.
The female luer connector has a spike on one end and a luer connector on the other, allowing for connection between a spike port on a bag and a luer connector. It may be used for bone marrow processing using a density gradient separation medium.
