The TACSI WB system is a full, stand-alone technology that automates and integrates the manual steps in the Buffy Coat (BC) method of whole blood processing, six units at a time.
It is a single, modular platform for processing WB and pooled BC platelets, using two different inserts.
The TACSI system consists of:
TACSI WB device
A full, stand-alone, automated system that processes up to six whole blood units using a modular approach
TACSI CRC inserts
Removable inserts designed to hold the TACSI CRC kit in position using the WB procedure
The TACSI PL insert
Removable inserts designed to hold the TACSI PL kit in place during the PL procedure
Processing kits
The TACSI WB kit is used to collect and process WB into RBCs, BCs and plasma
The TACSI PL kit is used to process BCs into a full therapeutic platelet unit
