The Reveos system is an easy-to-use, integrated and automated manufacturing system that
processes blood components from whole blood units.

The Reveos device, along with Reveos System Manager (RSM), and the integrated processing set enables consistent separation of blood into quality components. An integrated sealer seals all products at the end of the run.

The Reveos system process:

  1. Up to four units of whole blood are loaded into the device
  2. The rotor begins to spin
  3. Whole blood is separated into its components
  4. Expression fluid expresses air from the first unit of whole blood
  5. Plasma, platelets and leukocytes are expressed into respective product bags and each bag is sealed
  6. Step four is repeated for the remaining three whole blood units
  7. After the procedure, run data is transferred to the RSM
  8. Products are unloaded for storage or additional processing

The Reveos system is equipped with an exclusive, innovative Platelet Yield Index (PYI) feature.

At the end of each run, the Reveos system displays a PYI, providing an estimate of the number of platelets in each interim platelet unit (IPU) to help select IPUs for pooling. The PYI can help:

  • Select certain units to achieve a high-yield pooled platelet product
  • Achieve an average yield with minimal variability
  • Eliminate low-yield IPUs from the pooling process
  • Achieve desired results with a minimum number of whole blood units
